What’s Your Day Job Amy Jo Halliday?

Many of  Portland’s  most talented performers have side jobs -or even complete careers-beyond the performing arts. Here’s one!

Amy Jo Halliday
Full-time mom of four kids, substitute teacher, and future music teacher.

Last season, Amy Jo’s art imitated her life when she played a character who wrangles multiple kids and tests their knowledge: Rona Lisa Peretti in The 25th
Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. She’s also appeared at Broadway Rose, Triangle Productions, Pixie Dust, Lakewood, and Stumptown.

“There are good days and bad days. There are days when you feel like you have it all together….things are clicking, and you feel connected with what you’re doing and the people around you. But, there are also many days when you feel as if you are doing everything wrong. The biggest difference? At the theater, I fit in and am completely normal. At home, my children think I am totally embarrassing.”
