Favorite Place: Albert Kelly Creek/Park
Why? This little-known and breathtakingly beautiful spot captures for me the commitment Portland has to preserving its natural beauty as an important part of its urban fabric. In 2003, a restoration project was begun to remove invasive plants and restore native species along the creek bed.
Portland is…“Portland is…. a city that seems to challenge its residents to be their best selves. Even in times with a dizzying pace of change, like now, people who live here are by and large, willing to wrestle with the tough issues that will keep Portland evolving in a positive direction.”
