Favorite Place: Clinton Street Market
Why: Clinton Market is a little, friendly open-late grocery in the SE Division corridor that has somehow managed to thrive in the changing demographics of that neighborhood. It’s got a local microbrew growler fill-up station sitting right next to extra large bags of generic $1 cheese puffs. It’s where you’ll find all the denizens of Portland, whether they’re ski bums, hipster 20-something shoe designers, or folks that have lived in the same house for 50+ years. It’s my favorite kind of mash up – “old” Portland, “new” Portland and everything in between – in my favorite neighborhood.
Portland is…“Portland is beautiful, wildly creative, and just a little bit messy in the best way imaginable.”
