Linda Austin

Co-founder of Performance Works NorthWest whose experimental dance has been moving audiences since 1983

Born: Oregon

Arrived: 1992

Favorite Place: Foster Road

Why? The mix of businesses—although we are already losing some of the old businesses like the dart store—the local eateries, the Portland Mercado, the fact that it’s my neighborhood, the way the character of the road changes as it passes through the main street areas like the Heart of Foster, Lents and then winding out through Happy Valley all the way to Damascus.

Portland is…“Portland has changed in ways that are making it difficult for the average person to live here! Of course I am talking about the housing crisis.”
