Meet Rozalyn Pucci, the cover artist for this issue of InSymphony Kids. The Oregon Symphony selected Rozalyn’s art from the many spectacular submissions of the Dance Party! coloring page in the Kids Activity Book. Congratulations, Rozalyn! We hope you enjoy the show.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am seven years old. I like cats. I live in Newberg with my brother, my mom, and my dad. We have one bunny and five chickens. I am in a second grade Spanish immersion program, and I really like speaking Spanish (even though my mom doesn’t know how). I like to draw, paint, and dance. I do dance shows for my mom and dad.

How did you get the Oregon Symphony’s Kid’s Activity Book?

My grandma and grandpa took me to the Symphony, and I like going there.

What made you choose the coloring page of the dancers to send to the Symphony?

I chose the page of the dancers because it stood out to me. It’s like how I work.

What’s your favorite color? What kinds of things do you like to draw?

My favorite color is violet-purple. I like to draw fairies, cats, and pretty ladies.

Do you play any instruments, or would you like to someday?

I have played the violin in the past, and I want to play the harp.

What are some of the other Oregon Symphony performances you’ve seen, and what did love you about them?

I have gone a few times, including Peter and the Wolf and Oregon Trail. I really loved all of it, but I especially remember the dancing; Peter flies! I really liked the goose because he’s funny. I liked the bird costume, too. I like how the building has two floors – a balcony. It’s a neat building.

What’s your favorite dance move?

I like them all! It depends!

What’s your favorite dancing song?

Songs from Swan Lake.

What’s your favorite thing to do when you get to stay out past bedtime?

Party with friends
