This groundbreaking ten-movement work—dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer and breast health—will be performed on October 11\, 2025\, at the iconic Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. \nPremiered in 2000 with narrator Maya Angelou\, the piece takes the audience on a deeply personal emotional journey through ten musical movements interwoven with compelling spoken narration designed to inspire and educate. Written by ten American composers\, this collaborative work shines a light on the importance of early detection and the ongoing need for research and support through the stories of individuals\, families\, caregivers\, and medical professionals. \nAs part of the 25th anniversary of its premiere\, ensembles around the country are presenting this concert in more than ten major cities\, culminating in a finale performance at Lincoln Center in New York in November.
