SUMMARY:Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
DESCRIPTION:George and Martha have invited a young couple—Nick and Honey—over for a nightcap. As the drinks start flowing and skeletons claw their way out of their closets\, the couples soon learn that marriage isn’t all fun and games. Hilarious and harrowing\, one of the theater’s beloved classics\, Edward Albee’s dark comedy is as fresh now as it was at its premiere more than 60 years ago. \nPreview the Magazine >>

DESCRIPTION:Today should be the happiest day of Rashad and Genesis’ lives—he’s planned it all out—the perfect proposal before the perfect concert from the couple’s favorite artist. SUMMARY:Notes from the Field
DESCRIPTION:Drawn from interviews with more than 250 students\, parents\, teachers and staff\, Notes from the Field is a heart-wrenching tale of injustice\, compassion\, and hope that will leave you on the edge of your seat. \nThis production lays the broken criminal justice system bare and explores the harrowing experiences of students\, parents\, and activists fighting for justice in a system that seems determined to fail them. \nThis powerful performance exposes a world where schools have become a pipeline to prisons\, and young black men are being systematically pushed out of the education system and into the criminal justice system. But amidst the darkness\, there are rays of light\, as dedicated educators\, activists\, and community leaders fight tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of these vulnerable young people. \nThrough powerful monologues and breathtaking performances\, Notes from the Field transports you into the lives of those who have been most affected\, and leaves you with a sense of hope\, and a belief that change is possible. \nSo\, if you’re looking for a show that will challenge your assumptions\, stir your emotions\, and inspire you to action\, then this production is for you. SUMMARY:A Case for the Existence of God
DESCRIPTION:Keith and Ryan\, two working dads who seemingly have little in common\, meet in Keith’s cubicle to discuss business. Despite different upbringings\, identities\, and lifestyles—and the primarily transactional nature of their relationship—the men connect over their experiences of fatherhood; growing up in a small\, rural town; and the loneliness of lost opportunities and fragile circumstances. Tender and surprising\, Samuel Hunter’s A Case for the Existence of God shines a light on the ways in which disparate lives can commingle and create a deep and indelible imprint of empathy and connection.

SUMMARY:Hanneke Cassel Band
DESCRIPTION:With a career spanning over two decades\, Hanneke Cassel has helped redefine what it means to be a modern fiddler. Fusing musical influences from the Isle of Skye and Cape Breton Island with Americana stylings\, she blends originality and innovation with the spirit of Scottish traditional fiddle. \nPrepare for a performance described by the Boston Globe as “exuberant and rhythmic\, somehow wild and innocent\, delivered with captivating melodic clarity and an irresistible playfulness.” Beyond the strings of her fiddle\, Hanneke’s generous presence and passion round out her magnetism as a performer on the world stage of fiddle music. \n“For more than two decades\, she has infused her fiddle music—whether interpreting from Scottish\, Cape Breton or other traditions\, playing her own material\, or covering other contemporary fiddle tunes—with a singular passion as well as technical brilliance\, from soulful slow airs to boisterous strathspeys to exuberant reels.” — Boston Irish Reporter

SUMMARY:Spring: Vivaldi\, Guido & Samuel
DESCRIPTION:A celebration of rebirth and renewal\, from the much-loved “Spring” from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons\, to the world premiere of Rhian Samuel’s Gwanwyn (the Welsh word for spring)\, commissioned by PBO in response to Vivaldi’s interpretation of the season. We also explore Bach’s Harpsichord Concerto in G Minor\, a ‘rebirth’ of one of his earlier works where the organic interplay of soloist and orchestra captures the nature of springtime.

SUMMARY:Schumann 4: From Sorrow to Ecstasy
DESCRIPTION:A work of searing drama and intensity\, Schumann’s Fourth Symphony charts an emotional journey to rapturous joy in one uninterrupted flow of achingly romantic music. Plus\, Jeffrey Kahane mixes operatic lyricism with the playful intimacy of chamber music in Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 22\, a work that “flows from Kahane’s hands as refreshingly as water from a crystalline spring” (LA Times). \nPreview the Magazine >>

Don’t miss out on a profoundly moving production – purchase your tickets today and be a part of the movement for justice and equity!

DESCRIPTION:The Orchesrta Nova Northwest launches a new collaboration with the brilliant and dynamic Resonance Ensemble\, a professional vocal ensemble with a mission that mirrors that of the Orchesrta Nova Northwest\, who is committed to creating and presenting powerful programs promoting meaningful social change. This program will present an evocative work by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw that uses excerpts of American poet Emma Lazarus’ poem The New Colossus and also addresses refugee crises\, and a rarely performed work of American composer Margaret Bonds that sets W.E.B.
