In Mulieribus is proud to present its 17th concert season: Under the Same Sky. This season is dedicated to our shared humanity across cultures, age, ideologies, genders, even time and space. We increasingly hear about the widening gap and divisions separating us from one another, and it feels harder to find common ground with those who are different from ourselves. However, this season we choose to celebrate those experiences that transcend that which divides us for we all share needs and dreams under the same sky.

It is through our shared humanity that we can find hope and healing in the face of suffering and loss, identity and meaning to guide our way, love and compassion to conquer fear and isolation. I invite you to journey with IM as we reflect on these themes through music, itself a universal form of human expression with the power to transform and connect.

Under the Same Sky will feature three unique programs including Songs of Loss & Lamentation in October, O Marvelous Night! in December and Cycles of Eternity in March. More details for these concerts are included below.

Songs of Loss & Lamentation

This heartfelt program explores the universal human journey through loss and mourning to healing and peace. Program will include works by Victoria, Lassus, Sungji Hong, and William Brooks, as well as the regional premiere of newly discovered portions of Antoine Brumel’s exquisite setting of the Lamentations of Jeremiah.

O Marvelous Night!
Join IM for a marvelous night of carols and songs that celebrate the season from around the world! Music will span centuries, cultures, and continents while showcasing shared visions, joys, and hopes this time of year brings to all.

Cycles of Eternity
Our spring program contemplates the mysteries of time and eternity through music and texts to touch our hearts and unite us across time and space. The program will feature the complete performance of Oregon composer Andrea Reinkemeyer’s haunting Cycles of Eternity, as recorded on IM’s recent album. Soprano Arwen Myers joins IM for this special program.
